We start with a conversation
Tell us about your business, your customers, and what you want the site to accomplish. We listen first, document the scope, and send a clear agreement so you know exactly what is included before work begins.
No WordPress bloat. No 18/100 PageSpeed scores. Just clean code, mobile-first development, and a site you are not embarrassed to send people to. $150/mo website subscription or $2,700 to own your site (+ $25/mo hosting).

Tell us about your business, your customers, and what you want the site to accomplish. We listen first, document the scope, and send a clear agreement so you know exactly what is included before work begins.

You see direction for layout, style, and content before a single line of code is written. We refine it with your feedback until you are confident in the plan. Your site is built around your brand, not a generic fill-in-the-blank.

We develop your site with clean, custom code tuned for mobile, speed, and search. Most projects go live in two to four weeks. After launch, we are still here for updates, fixes, and anything you need as your business grows.
A site should load fast, read well on a phone, and be simple to keep running. Here is what that looks like when it is built properly from the start.

Custom-coded sites routinely hit 95+. Better Core Web Vitals means a real edge when Google picks between two similar pages. Performance is not vanity. It is ranking fuel.

We build for phones first, then scale up. Not the other way around where desktop looks fine and mobile is an afterthought.

WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 built in, not bolted on. Good for users, good for SEO, and simply the right thing to do.

No WordPress database to hack. No plugin roulette. Custom code, pre-rendered pages, and a CDN. Less attack surface, fewer surprise bills.
Two options: a monthly website subscription (what most clients choose) or a one-time purchase if you want full ownership. Up to five pages on every package, including your contact page.

$150 per month · 12-month minimum
$2,700 one-time + $25/mo hosting
Clear answers on pricing, ownership, and how we work. No jargon, no surprises before you get in touch.
Two different products, not just two ways to pay. A website subscription is $150/month with a 12-month minimum: we build the site, host it, maintain it, and handle reasonable content updates while you are subscribed. The site stays with PixelKray during that time. You are paying for ongoing service, not buying the site upfront.
A website purchase is $2,700 one-time plus $25/month for hosting: you own the site outright and we keep it online for you. You get 30 days of bug fixes after launch. Ongoing maintenance and content updates are optional ($60/month plan, or $100/hour with a 1-hour minimum). Best if you want ownership without a 12-month subscription.
We usually recommend the subscription. Lower cash up front, and you do not have to think about hosting, security, or tracking down a developer every time you need a text or photo changed. Purchase fits when ownership matters from day one: you plan to sell the business, want the site in your name, or prefer a one-time build with hosting at $25/month.
One-time, not monthly. If you need three extra pages beyond the five included, that is $300 total, not $300 every month.
Not automatically. On a subscription, the site is part of the service while you are paying. If you want to keep it when you leave, you buy it out (see below). We will spell out the price in your agreement so you know your options upfront.
You always keep your domain and any content or assets you provided (logos, copy, photos). Those are yours no matter what.
Buyout turns a subscription into ownership. The formula is fixed in your agreement:
Examples (before 12 months):
After month 12, buyout is $1,500 on top of what you already paid in subscriptions. That usually works out to more than buying outright at $2,700 from day one, which is why we recommend subscription if you want us handling everything long-term.
Buyout includes handing off the site (code and deployment). It does not include unlimited future edits unless you add a maintenance plan or host the site yourself.
You either pay the remaining balance on your minimum term or buy out the site at the buyout price above, whichever we agree on in your contract. The 12-month minimum covers the real work up front to build and launch your site. We will walk you through the numbers before you sign.
The plan continues month to month at $150/month unless you cancel or buy out. Hosting, maintenance, and updates stay included, which is why many businesses keep the subscription going. If you cancel after the minimum without buying out, the site goes offline and you keep your domain and your content.
Yes. Your domain is always yours. If we help you register or configure it, we transfer or point it back to you when you leave.
Subscriptions are billed monthly by credit or debit card through a secure online invoice (Stripe). You will get a link to pay and can update your card when needed.
Website purchases ($2,700) are usually paid by e-transfer or bank transfer so you are not paying card fees on a large one-time amount. We will confirm payment details in your agreement before work starts.
Each invoice has a 7-day grace period. If it is still unpaid after that, a $25 late fee may apply.
If invoices stay overdue and we cannot reach you, we may pause work on your site or end the agreement per your contract. You would still owe any remaining minimum payments or the buyout amount we agreed on. If something comes up, tell us. We are happy to work with you when we know what is going on.
Typical text changes, swapping photos, updating hours or services, fixing typos: the everyday stuff that keeps your site accurate. Not a full redesign, new pages every month, or unlimited custom features. If something is bigger than usual, we will tell you before extra work is billed.
Email us what you need changed. Include the page, the old text, and the new text if you can. Small updates on an active subscription are usually done within 2 to 3 business days. Larger requests go into the queue with a timeline we agree on first.
On a purchase, you get 30 days of bug fixes after launch. After that, edits are $100/hour with a 1-hour minimum, or add the $60/month maintenance plan.
No. We do not use WordPress, Wix, or drag-and-drop page builders. Your site is custom-built and shipped as fast static pages. We use Nuxt in our build process, but what your visitors load is still lean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. That means faster load times, fewer security headaches (no plugin roulette), and no constant platform updates to worry about.
Every package includes on-page basics: sensible structure, meta tags, fast load times, accessibility, mobile-first layout, and a sitemap. That is the foundation. Ongoing off-page SEO (link building, local citations, content campaigns) is a separate, longer-term investment. We can talk about what makes sense for your market when we chat.
Most marketing sites launch in two to four weeks, depending on how quickly you can send content and feedback. Rush jobs are not our default. We would rather ship something solid than something sloppy.
If we have not started building and you decide not to move forward after the initial design direction, we will refund what you paid to get started. Once development is underway, refunds are at our discretion. We will always be upfront before you are locked in.
PixelKray is a Toronto studio building custom websites for Canadian businesses, founded by Maxim Bel. We ship fast, mobile-first sites without WordPress bloat, page builders, or the plugin roulette that slows everything down.
We are small on purpose. You work with the same people from the first message through launch and whatever comes after, not a rotating cast of account managers. You will always know what is happening, what it costs, and what happens next.
Got a two-page site in mind? A full five-pager? Not sure yet? Tell us what you are working on, and we will reply with honest thoughts, not a copy-paste pitch deck.
